Homework - Haskins: Room 137
Students will have the opportunity to complete their homework. Assistance is available though students who require reinstruction of the material should seek the help of their classroom teacher.

Students will learn the basics of playing soccer and participate in intramural tournaments.
Football - Taber, Fox: (Gym)
Students will play flag football with their friends.
Cooking I- Love, Curley: Room 138A
Along with learning how to cook delicious meals, students will be taught kitchen safety, nutrition, cost cutting techniques, self-confidence and team work.
Tennis Wilson: Gym
As time and weather permits, students will play tennis and have fun with friends. This activity is intended to provide recreation and exercise as apposed to a competitive instructional program.
Self Defense -Will: Cafeteria
This activity will focus on building self-confidence while incorporating academics. Students will focus on respect for themselves, as well as others. This club will help develop motor and social skills.
Weight Training- Mr. Thomas: Weight Room
Students will learn the proper way to work out. Students will set fitness goals and track their progress.
Multicultural -Rosenmond / Santos: Room 112
This club is designed to bring people of different culture together. It will expose students to FOOD, game, traditions and music from cultures that are represented in our school.
Cheerleading -Oswalt: Gym
Students are taught cheerleading fundamentals such as cheers, jumps, motions, stunts and tumbling. Students will put together a competition routine to compete, work with the South Lakes Cheer program as support and become school ambassadors and leaders. CLICK HERE for more information.
Chess Club Alire: Room 130
I will teach students with no experience how to play chess, for those with more experience we will discuss strategies. The emphasis will be on playing, not talking. If possible I will get the club to compete in inter-school competitions otherwise we will have in-school competitions if there is enough interest

Student will learn new “STEPS” for competitions and to perform during school assemblies such as the multicultural fair, the Hughes vs. Herndon basketball game and the parade of stars

Calling all newsmen and women the Hughes Newspaper is looking for students who are interested in contributing to our periodical.

Student will work to help raise awareness to the dangers of driving while intoxicated.

Student will learn the fundamentals of classic Horseshoes. They will compete against their peers and teachers.

Learn the basics of knitting and needlepoint.

A club for students who are interested in playing theater games such as “who’s line is it anyway” It is a form of improvisational theatre, which uses the format of a competition for dramatic effect.

The Hermanas Club is an all girls group which focuses on building character and self esteem in young women. Themes discussed relate to issues that young women face on a regular basis including: personal health, relationships, character, self improvement, grades, etc. Members also receive community service opportunities as a chance to reach out to the community.

Walking Club -Benedict, Allen: Hall of Nations
Each Thursday students will walk around the campus. While they walk, they will do warm-up and cool-down stretches. Students will set healthy measurable goals each month, and decide what they will do to attain that goal. They will also complete a log to keep track of exercises that they do in the month.
