Letter from the Principal

Dear Holmes Families:

Once again, it is my pleasure to welcome all new and returning families to a new academic school year at Holmes Middle School.  In addition to several new teachers, we would also like to take this opportunity to introduce Mrs. Mary Johnson, our PTA president and all other returning and new PTA officers.  While we continue to ask for and receive wonderful support from our PTA, we also want you to be involved as much as possible.

The central theme of our School Plan continues to focus on the academic achievement for all students.  All academic courses are selected and organized to maximize individual growth, academic skills, and opportunities for exploration of related and extracurricular activities.  As you have discovered at our Back-to-School nights, our teachers are very special and dedicated to working with all students.  They meet regularly in teaching teams to plan lessons and coordinate instruction and activities with the continued focus on the Whole Child. 

Holmes Middle School is a great school with many fine traditions that will be maintained as we implement thoughtful and positive changes.  We are committed to preserving the positive climate as we maintain a serious environment for learning.  This school year promises to be a continuation of growth and success at Holmes Middle School for all students and staff.  Your continued involvement and support is always an essential component in the quality of our programs.

It is wonderful to work with our students, and we do understand the trust you place in us by sending them to school every day.  I do want to thank you in advance for your continuing cooperation as we work together to provide a world class education for all of our students.
