6th Grade Tdap Vaccine
Every sixth grade student is now required by the state of Virginia to have received a dose of Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis) vaccine if at least five years have passed since the last dose of tetanus-containing vaccine was administered.
The required vaccine is available at no cost for Fairfax County Public Schools students at Fairfax County Health Department clinics. The locations, contact information, and walk-in hours can be found at http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/hd/hdclinicsite.htm or by calling (703)246-2411.
Each student must be accompanied by an adult and should bring his or her immunization records to the clinic.
Thank you for your attention to this important health matter.
Please call the Holmes Office of School Counseling at 703-658-5940 with any questions.
Prior to entering sixth grade all students in Virginia are required to receive a booster dose of Tdap vaccine if at least five years has passed since the last dose of tetanus toxoid-containing vaccine (DTP, DTaP, DT or Td).-more information-
