SOL Testing Continues
 We want to remind parents and guardians
that SOL Testing for grades 3-6
continues until next Thursday, June 5th. You can help by ensuring that your child
is rested and begins each day with a good breakfast. We send “good luck” wishes to everyone
involved!

Have a question for Principal Gates? Join him next Tuesday, June 3rd, at 8:15 am in the library for Coffee & Conversation – the last
get-together with the Principal for the 2007-2008 school year! It’s a great opportunity to hear what Mr.
Gates has to say about current events at HM and to have him respond to your
questions, too. We hope to see you there!

Classes with no outstanding books by Friday, June 6th, will
receive a special warm weather treat from the library.
We hope everyone will attend
Scholastic's BOGO Book Fair (Buy One, Get One
Free), for 3 days only, June 9th-11th in the library, from 7:45 am to 3:30 pm.
It's a great opportunity to stock up on summer reading books!
Summer Reading Packets will
go home with every student on the last day of school. More information about
our Summer Reading Program will appear in the June Buzz.

Sandburg Choral Departments will be presenting “Broadway Tonight” on June 5th, 6th and 7th
at West Potomac High School.

Orchestra’s 2008 Children’s Arts Festival, Pirates of the Caribbean. Participate in art and dance activities, pirate costume contests, and limbo
contests. Also, touch and play real symphonic
instruments in the Instrument Petting Zoo.
Finally, enjoy the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra concert performance of selections from The
Curse of the Black Pearl and Dead Man’s Chest.
