Transportation Kiss and Ride
Parents transporting their children to school should use the "Kiss and Ride"
traffic pattern illustrated below to discharge their passengers in the morning.
The lane in front of the school is reserved for the arrival of general education
buses, closely followed by the arrival of preschool buses. Please pull your
car as far forward as possible in the "Kiss and Ride" line to enable multiple
cars to discharge or pickup passengers simultaneously. Discharge your child
on the passenger side closest to the building so he/she does not cross traffic.
Do not pass other cars in the "Kiss and Ride" line while children are being
loaded or discharged. If accompanying your child into the building, please
park your car in a designated parking space rather than leaving it in the
"Kiss and Ride" traffic lanes. Never leave your keys in the ignition nor
leave a locked or unlocked car running. A serious accident could result
if the car was jarred.
Bus Riders Bus service is provided for children who live more than one mile from
school or where walking is hazardous. Schedules for bus riders are mailed
to each student prior to the opening of school. While pickup and drop-off
times remain fairly constant after the first two weeks of operation, there
are circumstances which will alter some individual bus schedules. Inclement
weather, especially heavy snow, unusual closing schedules, etc., may cause
buses to run late. Where possible, we will notify parents in advance of
any unusual schedule changes.

Change in Transportation Arrangements
Change in Transportation Arrangements Arrangements to visit friends should
be scheduled after children arrive safely at home from school. We ask that
parents avoid involving the teacher and school office in transportation
changes to accommodate "play dates." Supervising student dismissal is a
critical responsibility. Day to day consistency is key for young children.
Should an emergency require that a child walk or ride home with another
student for child care purposes, we ask that both children bring notes from
their parents to the school office on the day that permission is requested.
Many buses are filled to capacity. Permission to ride a different bus can
be granted only on a "space available" basis.
Bikes
Students in 4th-6th grade who are within walking distance to the school
may seek permission to ride a bike to school. Before a student
may ride, permission is required from both a parent and the school. Students
must have a helment for riding and a personal lock for his or her own bike.
Permission slips and requirements may be obtained from the school office.
