Keep the restroom clean. Make sure trash makes it into the trashcan.
Flush and wash hands.
Leave promptly. Wait outside for buddy or classmates.
Report any problems immediately to a teacher.
Use self-control.
PARENTS/GUARDIANS:
Please review proper bathroom behavior and cleanliness with their child.
TEACHERS:
Schedule restroom breaks for entire class throughout the day, including 15 minutes prior to lunch since students will not be permitted to leave the cafeteria
Check restroom at the beginning and the end of restroom break.
Set up sign out system for students who need to use restroom during instruction time.
Review and re-teach proper restroom behavior throughout the year as needed.
Hallways
STUDENTS:
Keep quiet so that others can learn.
Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself.
Get to where you are going in a timely manner.
Walk on the right side of the hallway.
The line leader will stop at each stop sign and wait for the teacher.
Always walk with a buddy when not with a class.
TEACHERS:
Direct the line leader to stop at each stop sign and wait for teacher direction before moving on.
Monitor class closely.
Assign a buddy for any student leaving the classroom.
Review and re-teach proper hallway behavior throughout the year as needed.
Playground
STUDENTS:
Follow teacher directions closely for play areas and line-up.
Listen for teacher whistle; stop play and line up as soon as classroom teacher calls class.
Take turns. Follow the rules of the game.
Try to work out problems together. Ask an adult to help if needed.
Be kind to others. Teasing and excluding others is not allowed.
Pick up any jackets, books, lunchboxes, etc before going in the building
Report any problems to classroom teacher immediately.
Always inform classroom teacher if they are sick/injured. Never leave the playground without the classroom teacher’s permission.
PARENTS/GUARDIANS:
Check that their child is dressed appropriately for outdoor recess. Students should wear shoes that provide support and coverage suitable for outdoor play.
TEACHERS:
Inform students about where they are allowed to play.
Monitor students by maintaining close proximity and moving around.
Establish procedures for signals and whistles to call students in and how to line-up.
Remind students to pick up jackets, books, lunchboxes, etc before going in the building.
