We welcome parents and visitors to Hollin Meadows. Like all Fairfax County Schools, for security purposes, all visitors must report directly to the main office and sign in before visiting anyone or any part of the building. A visitor's identification badge will be provided in the office. Please remember to return the badge to the office prior to your departure. We ask that you help us by directing and/or reporting anyone to the office who is not wearing a badge.

Signing Out Students Early

PARENTS/GUARDIANS:

• Go to the office to complete the sign-out log on the laptop computer..  Inform the office staff with the name of the child and classroom teacher.
• Wait in the office for the child. 
• May not go directly to the classroom.  This interrupts instruction and compromises the safety of our students.
• After 2:20pm, parents will need to wait for the 2:40pm dismissal.  This will cut down on students missing valuable information at the end of the day as well as the confusion caused as escorting students travel to and from the office.  In the past, these students have missed their bus and/or assignments as they accompanied a student to be picked up in the office close to dismissal time.  We appreciate your cooperation.

TEACHERS:

• Upon notification from the office, send the student to the office with two (2) buddies.
• Do not release a student to a parent who comes to the classroom unless there has been authorization from the office. No exceptions.  If a parent shows up and you have not been authorized to release a student, send the parent to the office.
