May have a cell phone or portable communication device in their possession as long as it is turned off during the school day and out of plain view.
May not use a cell phone or portable communication device on school property (including the bus) without permission from a staff member.
PARENTS/GUARDIANS:
Remind students of the policy regarding use of cell phones as written here and in the FCPS Students Rights & Responsibilities. If a student is to have a cell phone, it should always be in a backpack or pocket.
TEACHERS:
May confiscate any cell phone or portable communication device that is on and/or in plain view. The phone shall be given to an administrator who may then return it to the student after contacting the parent/guardian or return it to the parent/guardian.
