Birthdays will be recognized one day at the end of the month for all students celebrating that month. Work with the teacher and room parent to coordinate serving a simple treat (cookie, cupcake, popsicle). No balloons, pizza, cake, favors etc., are permitted.
TEACHERS:
Designate one day at the end of the month to recognize student birthdays
Communicate with parents to coordinate who will bring in that month’s simple treat
Designate a separate day in June for summer birthdays
May help serve a simple treat either at recess or at 2:30pm. Instructional time should not be used to have treats. Birthday treats are not to be sent or distributed in the cafeteria.
Teach students appropriate manners, ie saying “Thank you” and cleaning up after eating.
