Principal Klena's Monthly Bulletin for May 2012
Dear HMS Families:
Our students and teachers are gearing up for the Standards of Learning Assessments. Below, you will see a schedule with the test dates. It is a important for students to be rested, have breakfast and be focused for the SOL tests. The teachers have been preparing them for the assessments and I am confident the students will be successful. Our last day of school for students is June 15th.
Because of the adjustment in the end of year schedule we have changed our HMS calendar as well. We had an early closing scheduled for June 13th and that has not been cancelled. June 13th and June 15th will be full days for students. We will have a field day on June 15th.
Our staff voted to have our end of year Awards Assembly during the day, rather than at night on June 13th. Parents of students receiving awards will be invited to join us for this assembly.
This is Teacher Appreciation Week. Our HMS teachers are outstanding and I am grateful for their hard work and sacrifices they make to educate our students. Thank you for supporting them and our school.
