AUTISM PROGRAM

The Program for Students with Autism provides support for students with the diagnosis of autism throughout the disorder spectrum. Programs are driven by Individual Educational Programs, with emphasis on social interaction, communication and behavior management within an academic and vocational exploration format. Both self-contained and general education integrated services are provided depending on the needs of the students.

ED RESOURCE

The ED Resource Program provides services to identify emotionally disabled students who are able to function in a mainstream setting with minimal support. This support may include individual student conferences, behavior monitoring, academic support, teacher consultation, and communication liaison between school, staff, parents, and private therapists.

LEARNING DISABILITIES PROGRAM

The Learning Disabilities Program is available to students who have been found eligible for those services. The department provides small group classes for the core academic courses, small group Basic Skills classes to support students who participate in mostly core team classes, and teamed classes with general education teachers for students who need minimal academic support. All students in the program have an Individualized Education Program (IEP) which documents the nature of the disability, necessary accommodations as well as specific academic and behavioral goals.
