Jared McDonald, 12th Grade Assistant Principal
Jared McDonald began teaching in FCPS in 2006 at the Burke Alternative Learning Center before spending the last four years at Falls Church High School working as a teacher and a Dean of Students. Prior to coming to HHS, Mr. McDonald earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master of Education degree in Special Education from the University of Virginia. Last year Mr. McDonald obtained licensure in Administration and Supervision and is excited to be joining the Herndon High School family as an Assistant Principal.
Mr. McDonald enjoys working with high school aged students because their enthusiasm, sense of humor, and eagerness to enter adulthood always has amazed and entertained him. He feels like he is constantly learning from his students and is eager to support them in their journey through high school.
Outside of school Mr. McDonald enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, fishing, and watching sports.
