Congratulations, Class of 2009!
We are proud of all of the 450 plus students who successfully completed their high school academic careers at Herndon and graduated June 17th. We wish you all the very best as you move forward in your lives, wherever your individual roads take you.
Congratulations to all of the students who completed their high school careers with grade point averages of 4.0 or above. We are very proud of all of you for the hard work, effort and dedication it took to achieve this goal.

Professional Graduation Photos
Professional Graduation Photos and Podium Candids are available to view and purchase online at www.candidcolor.net. Select ‘Diploma Presentation’ and enter log in code HRNG09. If you need assistance please contact the Lifetouch Graduation Coordinator at 1-800-321-4256.
Graduation Video Orders
FCPS has contracted with Memories to videotape (hmmm... do they still use tape?) the Class of 2009 graduation. DVDs can be pre-ordered. Download the order form here. Extra forms are also available in the 12th grade office
Important Financial Aid Information
1) Remember to make any necessary changes to estimated tax information, IF estimated tax information was used on FAFSA applications. Once taxes are filed, students can make corrections through FAFSA on the Web at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
2) Seniors should contact the financial aid office at the school they wish to attend if they have questions about their award letters. It is important to get to know financial aid staff who can keep students informed of important deadlines, other aid for which students can apply, and important paperwork to submit. For more information on award letters, view the "Your Award Letter" section of Your Federal Student Loans at www.studentaid.ed.gov/pubs.
Virginia Education Wizard
Choose a career, get the information to pursue a career, enroll in one of Virginia's community colleges, pay for college, transfer to a four-year college or university, and get answers questions about the future - www.vawizard.org The Wizard contains a section on transfers for (1) articulated agreements and (2) guaranteed transfers. There is a Transfer Planners section that will send students email reminders for each step of a checklist to keep them on track. There is a Paying for College section with a link to FAFSA, to estimating family contribution, a cost calculator factoring in two years at community college and transferring to a 4-year college, with the resulting savings.

Class Email Address
PARENTS : If you have changed your email address, be sure to
send your new address to HHSClass09@aol.com . We
have had several email updates returned due to outdated email addresses. There
will be quite a bit of information sent to parents in the upcoming
year related to senior year activities, graduation, etc. that
you will not want to miss. Be sure you are included in the Class
of 09 parent database.
