After Prom Details - Attention Juniors, Seniors and Parents
This years After Prom event will be held at the Dranesville Bowling Alley June 6th 12 midnight until 5 am June 7th. HHS Prom goers and their guest have the cost of After Prom already included in the cost of their Prom Ticket. HHS Juniors and Seniors only not attending Prom but wanting to come to the After Prom Party can purchase an "After Prom Only" ticket for just $5. Can you imagine - Cosmic Bowling for up to 5 hours, other games, Ice Cream Sundae Bar, Drinks, a Continental Breakfast and Prizes - lots of prizes for just $5. Please note - students attending After Prom who want to leave the event prior to 3 am will have their parent/guardian called for safety reason. You might want to stay, though, because many fabulous prizes will be given out after 3 and you have to be present to win. Parents - volunteers are needed to chaperone - if you would like to volunteer, please contact Kara Rider at krider1@cox.net. If you would you like to make a financial contribution to help offset the cost of the event, donations can be sent to HHS DAFA - AP and mail it to HHS.
After Prom is a drug and alcohol-free evening provided
for the students of HHS every year. We are so fortunate that we
have enough parents that want to continue this tradition—we are
one of only a couple Fairfax County High Schools that still feel it
is important enough to provide to our students!!
While the celebration is an activity that has traditionally been
planned, coordinated and executed by the HHS Junior Class parents with
clean-up help provided by Sophomore parents, we are part of the HHS
PTSA and a DAFA event and welcome all grade level parents to become
involved in any way—or activity! You will want to know
all about this event when your child participates! It
is strictly done on a volunteer basis.
The celebration is meant to provide a safe and fun alternative to
other less desirable after prom activities. The After Prom event
is open to all Junior and Senior students, even those that do not attend
the Prom itself.
The After Prom Committee needs lots of caring parents who want to
ensure a safe place for their kids to conclude the prom night! All
we need is a little of your time and energy to make this year's After
Prom Celebration a successful evening. Volunteers are needed
in many areas. If anyone would like to volunteer he/she
should contact Becky Field-Ross (fieldross @ aol.com).
After Prom tickets are included in the purchase of the Prom ticket. Juniors
and Seniors not going to prom but that would like to attend the After
Prom event will be able to purchase After Prom tickets only for $5. These
tickets will go on sale when Prom tickets go on sale. There will
be plenty of food, activities, prizes and fun for all.
