William Bates, Principal
William Bates began teaching in FCPS in 1999. Prior to coming to FCPS he taught for the Pittsburgh Public School System while working as a Behavioral Specialist Consultant with special needs children. William earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation Therapy from Slippery Rock University and a Master of Education degree in Special Education from California University of PA. Mr. Bates also obtained an Endorsement in Education and Leadership from George Mason University.
Mr. Bates loves working with high school aged students because of the abundant number of opportunities he has to make positive connections with them outside of the traditional classroom setting. William feels that some of his greatest successes with students have come while working as a football coach, mentor, and club sponsor.
In his spare time William enjoys traveling to the beach with his wife and family.
