Is it a good fit for me???
"It's not just the college you can get into... it's the
college you can get out of..."
The Career Center has many resouces for investigating
continuing education opportunities. We maintain catalogs,
comparative/ranking information, college videos, academic,
military and ROTC information. Much of this is also available
online. Remember that a good first step is to begin with
a student's interest and appitude evaluation with an
eye toward career plans. See our Career
Investigation page for
help with this.

A next key step in the selection processs is the college
visit:
-
Try to visit colleges when the campus
is in full session. Spring break and long weekends
can be a good time to visit. Whenever you visit, fill
out a form or sign a visitor list as this can be an
advantage in the application process.
-
Attend sports events, sit in on classes,
eat in the dining halls, talk to admissions officers
and get a taste of the college atmosphere. Be sure
it is a good match for the student.
-
Note
that some colleges have Open Houses locally, a good
opportunity to learn more about a school of interest.
Check Career Center bulletin boards and/or the specific
college web site to learn of these opportunities.
-
The Career Center has a helpful handout
on Campus Visits.
