Fairfax County Public Schools, Department of Student Services and Special Education have mandated that each school has a comprehensive guidance and counseling program.  The description of the program should be child-centered, preventive, and developmental.  This type of program encourages students' social, emotional, and personal growth at each stage of their development.  The purpose of counseling with students, parents, and teachers is to help students maximize their potential.  The elementary school counseling and guidance program is a part of the total school program and complements learning in the classroom.
Please work closely with your guidance counselor and teacher to ensure academic success for your child.  We welcome you to contact us with any questions or concerns.
