Trinity Presbyterian Church Partnership
A partnership with the church across the street was signed today that would further the community connection with our neighbors. Trinity has offered the use of their building and even more importantly, opportunities of involvement in the lives of our students. They have offered a range of services from serving as a tutor in the Saturday morning EXCEL program, to coming as a reading volunteer and reading to a child, to telling 6th grade children about work and career choices over lunch in the “I Like My Life” lunch series. As well as helping mentor a child, or even to come and read for a day on March 2 during the Volunteer to Read program.

Student Artists at HES
This week's edition of the Oak Hill/Herndon Connection features artwork created by students in these communities. Many Herndon Elementary students have works published there. Congratulations to those students whose works were chosen for publication. We should also thank our art teachers, Mr. Henry and Ms. McDonald, for ensuring that HES students were well represented in this issue.
