COMMUNITY SERVICE FOR ALL HAYFIELD SENIORS

You will be required to do 15 hours of community service as a senior. You may start this during the summer, but the hours will be due early in 2010.  The work you do must be for a non profit and can not be helping a religious organization spread its religion (but you can work for a religious institution that is doing secular work).  Of the 15 hours, five must be from a political campaign.  This coming fall there will be many campaigns to work on (click on the name to get to the person’s contact information). You will need to get proof of the work from the place you helped. Ask them to put how many hours you worked and sign it on a piece of stationary with their letterhead. If you want to get started this summer on community service you must e-mail ken.halla@fcps.edu to verify that you assignment meets school guidelines. There are many places you can do your service such as here with Fairfax County. Additionally if you want to join with a few others and create your own opportunity, please go here.
