COLLEGE PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM 2004-05 CALENDAR

HAYFIELD SECONDARY SCHOOL

 

The following calendar represents a list of events and meetings planned for the 2004-05 academic year. In addition to these activities, the C.P.P. advocates will continue to monitor grades throughout the year.

Students will be excused from the monthly meetings only if they are absent from school. Students should plan their after school activities carefully so that they are able to attend the CPP monthly meeting. Failure to do so may be cause for your removal from the program.  

 

SEPTEMBER 22nd:   Review activities for school year: introduce new students. Schedule seniors for meeting with the scholarship specialist.

 

OCTOBER 20th: Complete information sheets, take pictures for the yearbook; monitor grades, senior information; study skills workshop.  OCTOBER 25th:  Seniors and Juniors Only- SAT/ACT Prep.  SAT Administration-November 6th and ACT Administration- October 23rd and December 11th.

 

NOVEMBER 16th:  Information to parents; Seniors’ update-list minimum of 5 schools to which you will apply; monitor grades     NOVEMBER 15th:  Sophomores and Freshmen Only; Time Management and Study Skills.  November 16th:  Seniors Only- College Essay Assistance, filling out College Applications, receiving senior folders, or meet with Scholarship Specialist.. 

 

DECEMBER 8th: Planning for Black History Month; monitor grades; study skills workshop (2). “Proud To Be CPP Day” Dec. 5th.    No Supplemental Meetings.  December 4th SAT

 

JANUARY 2005 12th    : Course selection; monitor grades; information to parents; time management workshop. CPP alumni.  January 5th:  Academic/College planning; all grade levels. January 22nd SAT

 

FEBRUARY 7th      : Planning for Black History Month; Speaker for National Engineering Week, UNCF Black College Career Day Washington D.C.   No Supplemental Meetings.

 

MARCH 9th   : NAFEO Conference; career research; senior update on scholarships and applications-present to group. Black History Show: Friday March 11th. Rehearsals 7th, and 9th.    No Supplemental Meetings.  March 12- SAT

 

APRIL 20th: presentations on careers; review summer opportunities.  APRIL 4th-SAT/ACT prep

 

MAY 18th: select officer candidates; presentations on careers; College trip. 

 

JUNE 1th: Elect officers; pizza social - recognize seniors & outstanding students
