WHES News Show

Hayfield Elementary has an outstanding morning news show.  Students in the fifth and sixth grades are eligible to become members of the WHES News Team.  Each quarter a new team of approximately 14 students man the news room and televise a show every morning.  They inform the school about weather, birthdays, special events, and most importantly who won the pizza for good cafeteria behavior!  Students learn how to use a variety of equipment that includes cameras, microphones, a master control, video visualizer, and an audio output box.  News crew members learn how to work as a team; teaching and supporting each other.  Not only do the kids learn that every job is important for the show to work, they are able to view a taping of the show each day to help them refine their skills. In a nutshell, these students do a fantastic job!
