Why Study Music?

In speaking about his renowned theory of relativity, Albert Einstein said, "It occurred to me by intuition, and music was the driving force behind that intuition. My discovery was the result of musical perception."

Thomas Jefferson once said...

"Music is the moral law;

It gives wings to the mind;

It gives soul to the universe;

It gives light to the imagination;

It gives charm to sadness;

It gives life to Everything."

hawkHayfield Elementary Band

Hayfield Elementary band students learn the basics of playing a band instrument.

All band students come to band class each week for 45 minutes.

Students perform out of a selected method book, Essential Elements 2000, rhythm charts and sheet music. Students also learn how to play all their major scales in the beginning years.

Hayfield Elementary band students often participate in the Hayfield Secondary band pyramid concert. Elementary students also have the opportunity to take part in the summer band camp held at Hayfield Secondary.
