Help Us Reduce Waste!
One of our goals at Haycock this year is to reduce the amount of waste generated in our cafeteria. We have implemented a new, multi-faceted plan in our cafeteria, but we need your help with two aspects to be successful.
1. We have made an arrangement to donate unopened food to Columbia @ Crossroads food pantry. Our 6th grade Green Team members are sorting, logging and packing up the food but we need adults to drive the boxes to the food pantry every Friday between 2:00 and 3:00pm.
2. We are taking advantage of an opportunity at Luther Jackson Middle School to melt and compact our polystyrene trays so that we use fewer trash bags and free up space in our dumpster. We need the bagged trays delivered to Luther Jackson MS in Merrifield every Wednesday and Friday or Saturday.

Families who wish to register personally owned computing devices for use during the school day should review Haycock's Bring Your Own Device policy, available on our Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) page, for all the necessary details. Students can register devices on the first, third, and, if applicable, fifth Tuesday of each month. Please be sure to check out our BYOD Registration Page, as there are preliminary steps in the registration process that need to be completed prior to students bringing devices in for final registration.
Parents, do you need a FCPS 24-7 Learning Parent View (Blackboard) account? Click here for directions on creating your account and logging in for the first time. (Please note that since the name and address data you enter must exactly match the information in the school's student information database, if you get an error message in this process you may need to check with Haycock's Student Information Assistant, Karlie Lowe, regarding the way the information is entered into the database.) Other helpful information about FCPS 24-7 Learning Parent View can be found here.
