OUR MISSION : To provide speech/language instruction that enables students to become effective communicators by strengthening listening, speaking, reading, writing, and social skills.

    • Integrated class and curriculum-based intervention
    • Direct intervention

  • In collaborating with teachers, staff, students and family members to plan, implement, and deliver services.
  • In functional and meaningful student goals and objectives that support access to the curriculum.

THE SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST'S RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Screening – for Kindergarten students and other new-to-FCPS 1 st -3 rd grade students
  • Evaluation – of speech and language skills, including standardized assessment & curriculum-based assessment
  • Development and implementation of curriculum-based Individualized Education Programs – for students who qualify for SL services
  • Consultation & Collaboration – with teachers, specialists and parents
  • In-service training – for teachers & staff
  • Participation in school community activities
