Dear Greenbriar Families,
The PTA wishes to welcome all students, families, teachers, and staff back to Greenbriar West Elementary!
Our executive board is looking forward to returning this year and supporting you. However, we need the help of many volunteers to have a successful year. Please review our committee roster on the PTA website, and consider where you might like to volunteer your time. Hopefully you had a chance to sign up for some volunteer opportunities at Open House. In addition, there are several chairperson positions still available. If you would like to serve one of these positions, please contact one of the board members for more information.
Once again, the PTA is pleased to announce Sally Foster as our large Fall Fundraiser. We will need many volunteers, so please let us know how you can help. We want to encourage those who wish not to take part in these fundraisers to instead participate in a “No Frills” fundraiser where 100% of your contribution goes through the PTA back to activities for your child. Our PTA is proud to provide the funds for several Cultural Arts performances each year. In addition, the PTA gives class funds to each grade level and each individual teacher. We also subsidize field trip busses so that field trips are less expensive for families. We support Music, Art, Physical Education, Reading, the many Educational Enrichment opportunities afforded to your children, and so much more.
As a parent, being a member of the PTA is vital to those activities that we sponsor throughout the year. PTA Membership is a bargain at $10 for a single membership and $15 for a couple’s membership. If you haven’t done so already, please join the PTA. You will meet new friends, feel fulfilled, and watch your children smile when they see you walk through the door to volunteer!
We enjoy being able to keep you informed with up-to-date information via email. Please visit the www.gbwpta.org website to update your personal information. This will enable you to receive much information electronically rather than have to sift through the Thursday Folder information. It will also reduce the volunteer time needed to stuff and organize Thursday folders.
