A connected presentation system

A presentation system is a connection from your computer to any large presentation
device. This could be a TV in the classroom or a projector device for large audiences.

In each case the computer must have video out capability. This could be a video card
in the computer that allowed RCA or S-Video cables to be connected. It could also be
an external presentation device (like the Apple Presentation Device or Focus box)
which gives you the video capability externally. Theseexternal devices would be
attached between the monitor and the TV.

Digital cameras and scanners create pictures that can be saved on the computer and
used in your documents and slide shows. A video card allows you to attach a camera
directly to the computer and through the video card save both images and movies. (We
are currently using the All-In-Wonder card in the Dell Teacher Stations)



		A slide show presentation Slide shows are a grouping of pages that are presented on the computer screen in sequence. As component of ClarisWorks and work best from the drawing program. Setup in important. Open Microsoft PowerPoint You can use the wizard to walk you through the setup of your slides. Or use Templates to choose only the background.

						or from the Insertmenu choose New Slide. You then get the choice of type of slide.


								You may use a Master Page if you want to have the same background on all your slides. From the Menu choose Options Edit Master Page(turn it off when you are done with the Master Page and you will see you slide show pages.



		You can choose to apply a design to your slides. From the Formatmenu choose Apply Design. You can choose from the library of designs or create your own.



	Make sure you save your changes before you start the slide show. When using text, make the size large enough and clear enough to see from a distance. Also use a blank slide at the beginning and the end. Choose colors that complement and do not clash (Blue and Red together bleed)
A slide show presentation with images You can add Clip Art, images and movies to you slide show. From the menu choose Insert Picture, choose ClipArtor from Fileand navigate to the picture or movie saved on your disk or Hard Drive. Pictures can also be Copied and Pasted from other sources.
A slide show presentation with sound Sound can be added to the transitions of slides from the transition window. Sound can also be embedded in a movie and inserted like an image. Also some saved sound files can be added to the slide show using the Insertmenu
