List of 3 URL's from instructional web sites-

A URL is the internet address of a web site. This will be displayed in the URL line, also
called location or web site.

Locate three web sites and copy the url's. You can also print a search that lists at least
three instructional web sites.

Print a appropriate instructional web
site page

A web site appropriate to instruction focus
can be printed by clicking on the print
button in the menu or from the File Menu
choose Print.

To have the url printed on the page go to
File Page Setup and set the preferences to
print the location.


Print a bookmark file

You cannot save this file or print this file but you can open it as a frame in Explorer
and take a screen picture of the window.

Click on the Favorite button and the bookmarks will be displayed in a frame of the
Explorer window.

Hold the Alt key and press the Print Screen key. This will place a copy of the
window in the clipboard. Open your word processor and choose Edit Paste and
the window will be added to your document. Print the document.

Print a Boolean search result

Boolean searching limits the scope of the search and the amount of "hits". Depending
on the search engine the Boolean syntax is AND OR NOT or + and -. (check the
options or tips at the search site.)

Your search results should show the search you requested and the number of "hits"
you received. Print this page.

 


Create a Word Processing document with text and graphics from a web
site (including citation)

You can copy portions of a web site into a word processing document.

For text:

use the mouse to highlight the text you want and from the menu choose
Edit Copy. You can paste this into your word processing document.

For graphics:Use the mouse and click the right
button on the graphic. Choose copy
this image and paste the graphic into
your word processing document. You
can also save this image but be sure it
is in a format your word processor can
read (most graphics from the web will
be gif or jpeg).

Make sure to properly cite the web site giving the url address as well as the creator
and date (this information should be on the bottom of the page
