Greenbriar East physical education program goals stress that a quality education includes students knowledgeable of movement skills to be active and fit for a lifetime.
Current literature and research indicates that obesity in our society now faces students (as well as adults). Greenbriar East PE makes a serious attempt to educate students about the importance of fitness through active, fun activities that students could continue through a lifetime. Your support, guidance and participation in an active lifestyle with your child are always appreciated. |
Proper Attire for Physical Education Class
For safety and health, proper attire for physical education class is required.
Proper attire for physical education class is as follows:
- Rubber soled tennis or running shoes, laced or Velcro [no cleated soles]
- Comfortable clothing that does not restrict movement.
- If girls are wearing dresses or skirts, shorts should be brought and worn.

Ask your child what days he/she have physical education so he/she is prepared for a fun and safe movement experience. |
Excuse Notes
Please send a note if your child cannot participate in physical education due to sickness or injury and include the following information:
- Nature of sickness or injury[reason for exclusion] and amount of time [days] to be missed.
- A doctor's excuse for sickness or injury lasting more than two physical education class periods is required.
When a child is excused from physical education, a passive activity will be prepared. These activities will be constructive and relative to physical education so your child will not entirely lose out on the day's activities.
If your child has a condition that reduces his/her ability to participate [such as ASTHMA, ALLERGIES, or other LONG TERM PHYSICAL PROBLEMS], please inform us in writing as soon as possible. Our awareness of their limitations will help us modify an activity for your child's success.
