You will be working in class and at home. You will be using books and the internet to help you find your information. Your biggest source of information will be nature itself. Get ready to continue exploring nature and learn about plants in the Spring. We have learned about deciduous trees and coniferous trees. Now we will be taking a look plants in the Spring.
We will start by focusing on fall and then move through winter and spring to explore the following:
Seeds:We will explore this link in class. At Home Activity 1 We will start by exploring seeds and planting. Click onto the above link and look over the different methods of planting. Pick a method to try at home. Write the steps of the method you chose and bring it in to share. Over the next couple of weeks observe your seed and record your observations daily. You will be asked to bring in your observations to share. Growth Sequence:PlantsAt Home Activity 2Click on the above link and explore the information about the peanut plant. We will be learning about George Washington Carver in Social Studies. Use this link to help you identify the parts of a plant. Draw a diagram of a plant and label the parts. Bring it to class to share. At Home Activity 3 Click on the above link and look for Mystery #1. Complete Case #1.
At Home Activity 4 Click on the above link and try the "Sprout Carrot Tops" experiment at home. We will share what happened after about a week. Please observe your experiment daily and record your observations. At Home Activity 5 Click on the above link and look for Mystery #2. Complete Case #1. and flower activities through May. The "At Home" activities
will be collected as homework. We will be using this page in
