Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports
Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports establishes a respectful community and a safe environment for all students, teachers, and staff. The PBS team creates and maintains a clear and consistent system of positive expectations for the entire school; a system in which all school members understand those expectations and understand why and how these expectations benefit the school community.
The emphasis is on a team based approach which includes modeling, teaching, and recognizing appropriate behaviors. PBS creates, maintains, and teaches behaviors that support a more peaceful world.
A new program for the 2010-2011 school year, REAL-Time addresses academic and life skills by increasing student engagement, strengthening teacher to student and student to student relationships and teaching academic and life skills (R.E.A.L.). Students will demonstrate skills such as organization, time management, working cooperatively with others, and problem solving. |
