Opening Day
Thanks to the hard work of Fairfax County Public Schools support staff, contractors, and the Glasgow community (students, parents, teachers, administrators, custodians, food service workers, instructional assistants, clerical assistants and our office administrator, itinerant instructional personnel, librarians-- everyone!) the new Glasgow Middle School opened six full months ahead of schedule. Students arrived on January 29 for a full day of learning in their new state-of-the-art building. In one weekend, the entire infrastructure and instructional program of the school moved from the old building to the new. FCPS Superintendent Jack Dale, Chief Operating Officer Dean Tisdadt, School Board Member Kaye Kory and former member Steve Hunt, and Mason District Supervisor Penny Gross were on hand for an unofficial ribbon-cutting ceremony. A formal dedication is scheduled for the fall.
