The Seventh Grade Science Team, piloted an integral Design Cycle project . Meeting both MYP Science and Technology Objectives, students created basic design folders to document their solution to a problem: how to build effective teaching models of plant and animal cells, using the approaches to learning area of interaction. |

Our IB World School is committed to "making the world a better and more peaceful place." Teachers across the curriculum lead students to connect school with community and service. This year, Glasgow students have advocated for change to lower child mortality and to stop global warming. We donated $900 toward improving third world literacy, and wrote letters to wounded veterans. |
Glasgow students and teachers take an active part in international education through partnerships with I-EARN, GEMs, and the United Nations. This year we attended an international festival and participated in the UN Student Conference on Human Rights focusing on the rights of indigenous peoples. Teachers help students analyze globally significant issues through the FCPS program of studies. |
Glasgow students are recognized for their skills in fine arts. Interdisciplinary art instruction helps student make connections across disciplines and grow in their ability to communicate. Exploring big ideas through many media, student artists develop their human ingenuity as they develop self-understanding, global responsibility, and intercultural awareness.. |
IBO Director General Jeffrey Beard, accompanied by IB North America Manager Brad Richardson, visited our school. They heard how the IBMYP is helping us to create a community of life-long learners who are knowledgable, active and caring. Glasgow has been authorized to deliver the MYP since 2002. Our first program evaluation was completed in 2007. |
