Glasgow Music Subject Area Leader and Director of Bands performed with the Fairfax Wind Symphony at the Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago on December 23.  The Fairfax Wind Symphony (conducted by Stan Schoonover) has applied and auditioned to perform for the past two years; this year, the ensemble was one of two community bands invited to perform! 

This experience enriched classroom instruction for Glasgow's Symphonic Band and Concert Band.  In the concert, Ms. blacksten played a solo.  When she practiced the solo for her students, they practiced evaluating her performance using music vocabulary and critical listening skills.
