Music Performances Students in grades 1-4 participate in one general music performance during the school year which may include singing, instrument playing, and dance or movement. Students in grade 4 may also have the opportunity to perform if they are involved in the strings program. Students in grades 5 and 6 have performance opportunities through optional participation in band, strings, or chorus. Occasionally groups of students may be invited to perform in the community during the school day, in which case bus transportation will be provided. Evening music performances typically occur in the school cafeteria at 7 p.m. Informational letters are always sent home to parents involved in performances. Students are often asked to report to school between 6-6:30 p.m. to prepare prior to an evening concert. Generally there are no after school rehearsals. Kindergartners usually have the opportunity to perform in an annual kindergarten musical prepared by the kindergarten teachers. School Song The school song is "Dolphin Pride," composed by general music teacher Mrs. Sue Huber in 1999.
