In first grade, children learn to recognize the contributions and character traits of famous Americans. Here are some important people we will study:

Economics

In first grade, students learn basic economic concepts that relate to their daily lives. Here are some examples:

Describe ways to save money.
Explain that water, coal, and wood are natural resources.
Role play the exchange of money for goods.
Compare Needs and Wants.	I need food...I want toys.

Geography

In first grade, students learn how to explain basic geography terms. Here are some examples:
