Programs at Frost
Deaf & Hard of Hearing
Offers students opportunities to continue to use their chosen communication modality while they gain independence, experience new friendships and broaden their horizons in a supportive environment. Courses are provided through general education and special education.

Emotional Disabilities

Offers students the opportunity to participate in general education and special education with the support of clinical staff. The reduced student/teacher ratio in core classes allows the program's staff to address behaviors or emotions that interfere with learning.

English for Speakers of Other Languages Program (ESOL)
Offers students academic courses at each ESOL level. While developing foundational skills, extending current ability, or refining newly learned skills, students have opportunities to interact and communicate with the entire student body.

Honors Courses
Honors courses offer students who demonstrate previous high achievement in specific areas of academic strength the opportunity to experience the Extended Program of Studies at greater levels of depth and complexity. Students must meet FCPS guidelines in reading and in the content area for Honors placement.

Advanced Academics Program
Frost MS offers the Advanced Academic Program (AAP) for eligible students. The AAP curriculum is differentiated in depth, breadth and pace of instruction emphasizing higher-level thinking. The program provides opportunities to develop independent research skills. AAP accelerates math through compacting and incorporates advanced reading materials. While our AAP students work with their academic peers in core subject areas, they are provided with opportunities to interact with our entire student body through elective courses, health and physical education, and after school programs. More information can be found at http://www.fcps.edu/is/aap/.

Learning Disabilities
Offers students support in both self-contained and team-taught classrooms. The IEP team makes a recommendation for a combination of courses based on a child's need. Opportunities for remediation courses are available each semester.
