Expectations for the Restrooms

Respect Yourself I will use the water in the sink to wash hands only.
Respect Others I will be sensitive to others' privacy.
Respect Property I will flush the toilet.
I will put trash in the trash can.

Expectations for the Playground

Respect Yourself I eat my own food.
I stay in my seat.
Respect Others I am prepared.
I use good table manners.
I sit patiently and quietly.
Respect Property I clean up my area.
I will put trash in the trash can.

Expectations for the Hallway

Respect Yourself I walk quietly.
I always have a buddy.
Respect Others I walk to the right.

What is PBIS?
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a systems approach to preventing and responding to school and classroom discipline problems. PBIS develops school-wide systems that support staff to teach and promote positive behavior for all students. By reducing behavioral problems, PBIS creates and maintains safe learning environments where teachers can teach and students can learn.

Core Elements

  • School-wide discipline practices and procedures
  • Active leadership and ongoing participation of principal
  • Staff commitment for consistent implementation
  • Team-based planning and problem-solving
  • Use of data to make school wide decisions
  • An instructional approach to behavior and classroom management
  • Classroom management and behaviorally-based interventions
  • Functional assessment-based behavior support planning
  • Comprehensive plans for individual students with intensive needs
  • Integration with mental health and other community supports
