Freedom Hill won the Wellness Award for the 2008-2009 school-year.  We won this award because we focus on wellness in the school and community.  It addresses School Board Achievement Goals 2.8, students will make healthy and safe life choices, and goal 3.2, students will be respectful and contributing participants in their school, community and world.  Congratulations Freedom Hill staff, students and community!

The present Freedom Hill building has served the rapidly changing Tysons Corner area of the Vienna and Falls Church communities since 1949. At present, the student body represents more than 45 countries of origin and 40 different languages. Dedicated and talented staff members collaborate with parents and community to ensure an inviting, child-centered environment with an emphasis on academic excellence and a positive school culture that honors diversity. There is a strong focus on the use of multimedia technology as an essential tool for integrating skills across the curriculum and preparing competent citizens for the 21st century.

Vision Statement
Freedom Hill Elementary School is developing into a community of continuous inquiry and improvement - a Professional Learning Community. We are dedicated to guiding our students to be intrinsically motivated to become contributing members of society. The goal is becoming embedded in our school culture and increasingly drives the work we do everyday.

Freedom Hill Elementary School is part of Cluster II and in the Marshall HS Pyramid. Students attend Kilmer or Thoreau Middle School and Marshall or Madison High School. We serve students in Preschool Special Education, FECEP, and grades K-6.

Our school mascot is Ernie, the Eagle and our school colors are red and white.
