General Library Information
The library is located near the center of the school, across from
the theater. Its soaring ceiling with large sky-lights creates a beautiful library
environment enhanced by natural light. The double bank of windows gives the students in
the library a clear view of the P.E. fields and of the planes taking off from Dulles
International Airport.
Hours:
7:15 to 3:30 Mondays and Wednesdays
7:15 to 2:30 Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays
- Students may check out up to three books for three weeks. There
are exceptions for special projects and reports.
- Students who have overdue books will receive
OVERDUE NOTICES every
Tuesday.
- After 3 OVERDUE NOTICES (6 weeks) the system assumes an overdue book is
lost and will generate a BILL for the cost of the book. If the book is
not found and returned it must be paid for.
- Students may borrow up to two magazines at a time.
- Students are responsible for all library materials they borrow even if
that item is lost or damaged.
- Teachers will bring students to the library as a class for research,
checkout or both. Students may come to the library during class time as
long as they have a pass signed by their teacher.
- Students may stay late in the library on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Students must sign up in the cafeteria during their lunch break, on the day
they plan to stay. Students are expected to make arrangements to stay
after school before they leave home.
