Teen Living 
Grade 7 - Semester Course $12 Fee Required

Teen Living 7 is a fun, exciting hands-on course that has been planned to help the student develop a responsible and positive role in the family and society.  The foods lab provides an opportunity to develop food preparation and serving skills.  Students will use recipes to prepare foods using a variety of cooking techniques with an emphasis on breakfast.  Hand and machine sewing skills will be used to complete several projects.  The student will become familiar with responsible behavior in caring for children of different ages.  Management of self and space will deal with the development of good self-esteem and a clean, organized living environment.


Teen Living
Grade 8 - Semester $18 Fee Required

Teen Living 8 will help the student gain knowledge, practice skills and develop attitudes needed for successful transition to the world of high school and young adulthood.  Both conventional and microwave cooking will be used to prepare a variety of recipes, including regional and ethnic foods.  Machine sewing will be emphasized in the sewing lab.  Students will complete both projects for their personal use and one to be shared with the local community.  Units in career, peer relationships and nutrition are also included in this hands-on class. The course is open to all eighth grade students, and no previous experience is required.
