The seventh grade program surveys United States history since 1865. This course begins with a brief introductory unit, which symbolizes major historical development from 1607 to 1865. Subsequent lessons examine developments since 1865. Important trends in United States history are identified by analyzing the roles of individuals and important events. Students develop historical thinking skills and extend understanding of how geography shapes history.
