Chess Club Chair Wanted for 2010-11 School Year
Our current chairperson will be "graduating" this year and in order to keep
this fabulous program going we need a new chairperson for next year.  We are looking for someone who can work briefly with our current chairperson this
year to become familiar with the program.   No chess experience is
necessary!   Please consider chairing or co-chairing this valuable program.
For more information, contact Carol Wolf at ceswolf@verizon.net.
Potluck for Families Affected by Cancer
The American Cancer Society estimates that about 1.5 million new cases of cancer will have been diagnosed in 2009. Presently, the risk of an American man developing cancer over his lifetime is one in two.  Approximately one in three women in the United States will develop cancer over her lifetime.  Leukemia is the most common cancer among children ages 0-14 years and cancer of the brain/other nervous system is the second most common incident cancer in both boys and girls. Forestville would like to organize a potluck dinner for our families who are affected by cancer.  If you are a family with a parent, child, or sibling who either has cancer or has had cancer, please join us on February 12, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 pm for a lovely evening of dinner and games.  The purpose of the event is to celebrate, find mutual support, and strengthen our Forestville kids and families.  If you are interested in joining us, please contact Sarah Stark (703-404-6008 or sarah.stark@fcps.edu).

You'll find when class lists will be posted, Back to School Night and Bell Schedules, links to the Parent Handbook and more! Parents now have the opportunity to create an FCPS 24-7 Learning account of their own.  The parent’s access into FCPS 24-7 Learning is called Parent View. The Parent View account gives parents the opportunity to view all of their childrens’ homework and other assignments online.  Parent accounts will also give parents access to other important features like weCare@schools.  weCare@schools is the online system that allows parents to submit emergency care information for their children online. Click on the headline to create your Parent View account.
