PSCB is a half-day program providing a 8:2 ratio with one Teacher and one Instructional Assistant. The PSCB program is designed for students that may have delays in any major area of development, including communication, fine and gross motor skills, cognitive functioning, social/emotional functioning, and adaptive skills. Children receive both individualized and small group instruction to address areas of need identified in the child’s IEP. Additional related services by a speech/language clinician, occupational therapist or physical therapist may be provided if recommended by the IEP team. The curriculum is language rich and emphasizes communication, early literacy and social development along with development in other areas.

ESOL back to top
One out of every three FCPS students has a home language other than or in addition to English.  These language minority students bring valuable diverse perspectives to classrooms and many are in the enviable position of learning an additional language.  Some of those, ESOL students, need specific support as they learn rigorous academic content simultaneously as they acquire English.  FCPS provides English for Speakers of Other Languages services as an integrated part of classroom instruction for meeting students needs. For more information, visit these websites.
