Literacy Programs at Forestdale:
Reading Is Fundamental, Inc.: prepares and motivates children to read by delivering free books and literacy resources to those children and families who need them most.
Waterford Early Reading Program: provides 15 minutes a day of computer activities for kindergarten students that teach print concepts, phonemic awareness (the awareness that words are composed of distinct sounds), letter identification, and letter sounds.
School Wide Reading Incentive: Every month Forestdale students are recognized for turning in their completed reading log. The reading goal for the students is determined by each grade level.
