Students in General Music classes, taught by
Mr. Stansbery and Mrs. Webster, engage in four activities: listening, moving, playing and singing. Using these activities, students in grades K-6 explore a variety of topics in music and music-making, including rhythm, melody and harmony.
Students investigate instruments of the Symphony Orchestra as well as instruments used in many cultures around the world; students experience a live concert by attending a performance of the Fairfax Symphony Orchestra in fourth grade and the National Symphony Orchestra in fifth grade.
