Bus Riders

Bus transportation is provided for students in grades K-6 who live more than one mile from the school or when an unsafe situation exists. School bus riders in Fairfax County are required to observe rules of safety and good citizenship while riding on a bus and while waiting at a designated bus stop. Standards for safe, courteous conduct will be in effect beginning with the first day of school. It is essential that bus riders cooperate and adhere to the bus regulations. All children will receive a copy of Regulations for Pupils Riding School Buses. All parents are requested to review information with children and return their assigned buses each day unless parents notify the classroom teacher in writing of alternate arrangements.

Parents who wish to transport their children to school in their private vehicles are requested to part their cars along Elder Avenue. Students may be dropped off and pick up between the designated "Kiss and Ride" signs.

Note: The front drive driveway is restricted to bus traffic and staff parking only.

Students in grades 3-6 who are within walking distance from home are permitted to ride bicycles to school as long as traffic and safety regulations are followed. These decisions are based on safety of the children. A child who wishes to ride a bicycle to school must agree to wear a helmet and bring a note from a parent giving permission. The school cannot be responsible for the bicycle at school. Children should bring an appropriate lock to secure the bicycle in the stand provide at school.
