Mrs. Rohlf's A Remembrance
Mrs. Rohlfs was a dedicated wife, mother and teacher who lived her life to the fullest.
A highly respected teacher and colleague who believed in the beauty and ability of children; challenging each of her students to meet their fullest potential. An active member of her church parish, she lived through example and was a woman of many accomplishments.
She was an able scuba diver who loved to share her experiences with sharks and was a proud graduate of NASA's Space Camp. A tireless worker and life long learner she could be found working side by side with her students encouraging their active participation in team building activities, preparation for math competitions, exams, and Geography Bees, her students frequently securing top awards. She was always on the lookout for courses that could enhance her ability to connect with and inspire her students and frequently sent emails to the staff citing inspirational artists or educators she found interesting. She demanded the best of herself, her students, her friends and her colleagues, each rose to the challenge.
On Tuesday, February 26th Gena lost a ten year battle with cancer. She fought long and hard and remains a role model for other cancer survivors and fighters. Gena touched the lives of many. She will be greatly missed.
