School Motto
Our current school motto is "Building on Our Success" which can be seen throughout our building as well as at the top of our website. Unlike most organizations, this motto isn't just an ordinary rallying cry! Instead, it is the essence of who we are as a Professional Learning Community (PLC) and what we are accomplishing together as Falls Church High School.
The motto is dynamic and changes year to year in order to positively reflect our stance with regard to our academic and PLC achievements. As a Professional Learning Community, we have an overall shared mission and vision as well as shared values and goals. We work collaboratively to analyze data that measures student achievement. Using this data, we are developing action plans that result in continuous improvement in student achievement. "Building on Our Success" is a daily reminder to all of us--the Falls Church High School community--that we have indeed found success, proven by various forms of student achievement, but cannot allow ourselves to become satisfied with these successes only.
Therefore, one of our current goals as the Falls Church High School community is to continually strive for more success throughout the current school year and diligently work to raise our level of student achievement for the coming school year.

Significant Events in School History
February 2010 - Secretary of Education, Arnie Duncan, visited AP Government students.
Spring 2009 - Buck Payne named teacher of the year.
June 2007 - Ben Affleck was the graduation guest speaker.
December 2006 - Named a national AVID demonstration site.
December 2006 - Instructional practices featured on Red Apple 21.
September 2006 - School meets AYP with 2005-2006 SOL success.
