PAWS
Rotation Calendar
1.
PAWS is short for Performance Activities With Students.
2. PAWS is a rotational period in which students receive extra
academic support, remediation, tutoring, and/or enrichment.
3.
Student attendance for PAWS is mandatory and should be treated
with the same guidelines of the school's attendance
policy as regular classes.
4. Teachers determine the kinds
of Privileges that their students receive during PAWS.
5. Students
must meet the following criteria in order to receive Privileges:
a.
Must be on the A/B honor roll on their current interim
or
quarterly
report card.
b.
Must have achieved at least 80% proficiency in their core
SOL
strands.
c. Must have no unexcused absences or no more than 2 unexcused
tardies in the current quarter.
d. Must have all of their work up-to-date.
e. Must exhibit behavior that is acceptable in the learning
environment.
6. The classroom teacher has the final word on who gets
Privileges and who does not.
7. During Privileges students
may not wear
hats, listen to portable music devices, talk on
cell phones or behave in a
manner contrary to the Students Responsibilities
and Rights.
