AVID CURRICULUM
High School (9-12) The AVID Program has been developed to improve students'
understanding of the path to college. AVID includes a sequential approach to
college-prep study skills, the college admissions process, and decision-making.
AVID curriculum includes approaches to note taking for college (Cornell style),
understanding the college admission process, taking entrance exams, formulating
a master education plan, and preparing for PSAT, ACT, and SAT I and II
tests. AVID encourages academic rigor
for students throughout their high school careers that will allow them to be
better prepared to succeed in college.
